this Saturday, October 1st with entertainment provided by displaced New Orleans

Houston area
and Texas behind Kaplan's Ben Hur on Yale at 21st Streets.
The Fisherman and His Wife, scheduled for 12:30 on Saturday, first toured
three months before the devastation of Hurricane Katrina,
New Orleans' Calliope Puppets offers a theater piece for family audiences
focused on the critical impact of coastal wetlands loss.
Set in south Louisiana, the traditional Brothers Grimm tale is of the wife who
asks too much of the magical fish her husband catches.
Classic characters, lively songs, and imaginative adaptation promote
understanding of the effects human decisions have on wetlands residents.
Presented by puppeteer, Karen Konnerth and musician, Vic Shepherd.
